  Why Do You Think People Become Jehovah’s Witnesses?

  besides growing up in the religion, why do you think people turn to jehovah’s witnesses?

  JWs borrow from the Adventist and put a twist on the scriptures. They did so effectively with sociopathic scribbles of Fred Franz presenting in an assertive way that they had deciphered the meaning of the scriptures particularly concerning the Kingdom. For wayward and weary church goers and curious alike, all that door knocking and good news moved a lot of hearts. Look at what was happening in the world during those early days. Mainstream religion was boring and stagnant. All those rebellious hippies needed somewhere to land.

  It is a different religion today made up of captive born ins, prodigal sons and a pinch of "worldly" despots. Nobody in their right frame of mind joins this religion if they have simple internet connection. If they do...they frankly deserve what they get.

  A more intriguing question to me is, "why do so many people stop being Jehovah's Witnesses 100%"? PIMI, POMO, POMI, PIMO. WTAF?

  Repercussions for sexual immorality

  hello, i was hoping to get some clarification about how people are disciplined for immorality as a jw.

  i became involved with a co-worker a few years ago, she was fairly aggressive and she initiated a physical relationship very quickly.

  at the time i did not know she was married and a jw.

  As hard as it may be for you to walk away and not give it another thought or action, that is exactly what you need to do. She is not in love with you but instead a very toxic person. Don't let her destroy your life any longer.

  Her past and present will catch up to her without any input from you.

  Get yourself tested for STDs.

  everyday that goes by i thank my lucky stars that our sons' want nothing to with this cult.

  she has set such a bad example of what a christian is, that is also what desuades them and keeps them thinking its a cult.

  Make sure in your communication with your sons that you don't alienate their natural affection for her. They will resent you when they become men.

  How can you possibly accomplish that? Teach them about cult personalities and control tactics used to create those personalities. All of the negative behaviors she displays should not be dismissed but they shouldn't be fully blamed or focused on either.

  Placing blame directly where it belongs, on the cult, allows your sons to maintain a healthy love for her while learning and observing how destructive the cult is. May work for you as well.

  Her true nature is still under there somewhere. Never give up hope it might break free one day.

  they died from influenza-involved illnesses at a rate of 0.0005% in 2018.. workforce (age 19-55) deaths from covid-19-involved illnesses are projected at a rate of .01% as a percentage of their peers.

  they died from influenza-involved illnesses at a rate of .007% in 2018.. retired (age 66-77) deaths from covid-19-involved illnesses are projected at a rate of 1% as a percentage of their peers.

  2. We can not trust reported numbers for any aspect of covid-19. Not China, not Russia, not the USA.

  3. What is clear is that covid-19 is grotesquely misrepresented and not anywhere near the pandemic the powers that be want for whatever their misguided or unknown agenda is.

  4. We have now entered a global depression. Why?

  5. Everyone needs to go back to work, back to school and back to the bar watching professional sports competing in front of live audiences.

  6. What is fear porn? I understand fear tactics but when you throw porn into it, it just reinforces all the reasons we should probably stay under house arrest.

  Waco Mini-Series on Netflix. Powerful and Scary.

  so we binge-watched the waco mini-series on netflix.. wow, what a powerful and enlightening programme!

  even if you think you know what happened, it gives you extra context to it all.

  it's very well done even if you just want a great drama series, but it's way more than that.. there are of course some dramatization and slight historical inaccuracies for the purpose of story-telling but it was very informative.

  does there seem to be a higher incidence of infidelity amongst the jws?.

  my brother, who is an active jw and ministerial servant, has an elder friend who was recently disfellowshipped for having an affair with another sister in the hall.

  it turns out this sister was divorced a few years earlier from a "worldly" man who had an affair on her.

  i have noticed that the foolishness of jephthah's vow to sacrifice his daughter gets bandied around a lot as somehow approved of by god.

  i never could understand how people could come to this conclusion.

  if i wrote about something terrible that my son had done, that doesn't mean that i am for that thing.

  Hospitals here are posting public announcements begging people to come to the hospital because the hospital is empty. Yet we are still on about 90% lockdown. Crazy isn't it.

  Scare people enough and they just refuse to attend or walk through those pearly doors of salvation.

  i was really depressed, as i was finding out what bethel was really all about.

  i drank a whole bottle of cold duck, after a long hot subway ride back to brooklyn.
